Day 1 Focus: T25 Alpha: Cardio

Last night was Day 1 of a 50 day program (5 days a week for 10 weeks) called Focus T25. This is Shaun T's newest program that only asks you to dedicate 25 minutes a day (okay, 30 with the cool down), 5 days a week. I started last night to get a workout in ... and man oh man ...

They don't call this Cardio for nuttin' ... Shaun T Starts you out slow. There really isn't a "warm up" per se as we only have 25 minutes but he is SPOT ON time wise. Each move is precisely timed and transitions are seamless. The music is great!  I found that some of the sets I couldn't complete so I would follow Tania, the modifier. The beauty about this program is just about the time you think you can't do one more rep Shaun calls TIME ... then it's about a 2 1/2 minute cool down.

If you've done Asylum 2, he works in an agility move WITHOUT THE LADDER which, frankly, is more challenging since you don't have target points. He also progresses the moves from slow to fast then active rest ... rinse and repeat for 25 minutes. The progressions make sense and he announces the next move before it comes. Explains things REALLY well and you have a little yellow "movement" bar on the lower left of the screen to indicate how much time you have left on any move.

Burnouts are BANANAS YO! Seriously ... The burnouts are just that, designed to be fast paced, recapping the advanced moves of the progressions you just did. Then you go to an "active rest" move. This workout will get your heart rate up and keep your body guessing.

In 28 minutes I burned 258 calories. It was low because it was the first time doing it and I had to get some of the moves down.
