3 Day Refresh ... Final Stats and Final Thoughts

As many of you know, I just completed the 3 Day Refresh . I told you that I would give my honest opionion of the refresh, and not just some hype about what it can and can't do.

A little background on me. I am fit. I work out almost every day doing some sort of Beachbody Program. I have decided to take a little break to give my body a true rest after working out solid for a very long time. I eat clean. My breakfasts mostly consist of Shakeology or oatmeal or boiled eggs while my lunches and dinners include lean protein and lots of veggies. I rarely eat out.

I decided to do the 3 Day Refresh for a couple of reasons; First, I am a Beachbody Coach and I won't promote a product unless I believe in it. Secondly, I wanted to prove to myself, yet again, that I am in control of me and what I put into my body. Read more after the page break!

The 3 Day Refresh consists of a Shakeology for breakfast, a Fiber Sweep and 2 Protein Shakes (one for lunch and one for dinner). This isn't a "cleanse" as you are allowed to eat whole organic vegetables and healthy fats while on it. You will net about 900+ calories per day depending on your choices. There is a day by day guide to help you through all this.

My process was; I got the guide, put my days/meals on a spreadsheet and set times when I would be eating/drinking. I also figured out which food choices I would be having for the 3 days so I wouldn't have to continually run to the store. This is KEY to doing this refresh. The other thing I did was set alarms on my phone to remind me to eat.

Day 1 was horrible. No two ways about it. I didn't drink my morning coffee and by 8:30pm I was passed out on the couch; no energy and all I wanted to do was sleep. This was on a Friday night. I was also getting an insane headache. At 3:30 am I woke up to take a migraine pill becuase, frankly, at that point if all 3 days were going to be like this I was going to give up.

Day 2 was better. I decided to have coffee in the morning. I did this after drinking the prescribed water first thing. Day 2, as a result was much better. I had a lot to do that day as I was moving things out of my storage space to bring to my moms house to store in her newly cleaned garage. I didn't feel hungry between meals and my energy was up. Frankly I was surprised as I was on limited calories.

Day 3 was probably the best. No headache at all (still have the black coffee in the morning) and no hunger during the day. I did have to go to the grocery store in the afternoon and that was hard. I wanted to buy every single thing I shouldn't eat. But I refrained and stuck to my list. Go me!

So, would I do this again? Maybe. That said, my results on overall weight loss weren't too much or inches lost. I am going to stress that I eat well and workout regularly so I don't really have a lot of "bloat" or toxins to get out of my body. Would I maybe do a DAY of this? Yes, for sure but not sure if I could handle all 3 days.

Now here is the info you want: The Stats

Weight loss 3.6 lbs (again I was on a restricted calorie program and didn't do exercise other then moving stuff. Results may (and will) vary) and remember, anyone on a restricted diet will lose "some" weight.

Chest: -0.6 inches
Waist:  -0.7 inches
Hips: -0.2 inches

Not much loss in inches. Again, results may vary.

I hope my feedback over the last 4 days has helped in some way. I only see "glowing reports" of how people have lost a bunch of weight and inches doing the 3 day refresh. Some of these people admittedly were eating crappy before they did the refresh. For someone who has a handle on their nutrition and exercise, this may not be for you but if you want to get rid of some extra bloat and feel better then I say do it.

It is not a miracle weight loss trick. Weight loss comes from hard work and good nutrtion., Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You get out what you put in and if you want a better body, better health, better ... everything, YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT.

  1. Losing 3 lbs and 1.5 inches in just 3 days is nothing to scoff at! Those are excellent results, especially for someone like you who's fit and eats clean. Good job!! I've heard a lot of concern about whether it's just "water" weight that "comes back" though I've also heard people say they've actually continued to lose weight after the 3 days. A follow-up post would be great to let us know your "Post-Refresh" experience :)

  2. I plan on doing just that. I have to weigh and measure before starting Body Beast on the 1st. I am taking this week off from working out so will be interesting to see where I am at post Refresh in 1 week. Thanks for looking and commenting <3
